For kitchen, spend the money on a good knife. For starters, you only need three: a large interconnection knife, chef knife and a good cleaver. We strongly recommend that you buy five different knives to consider your kitchen complete, but, as I said, for beginners three will do.
So, what is a chef knife? A chef’s knife is a versatile knife. In the kitchen, this knife should be in your hand 80-90% of the time. You can cut, chop, do everything with it. As you become more confident with your knife, you will realize that this is the best knife to have in hand. For the first time users, is an 8-inch chef knife and recommended for more experienced users, the 10-inch chef knife. What is a peering knife? Is the speed of the knife as far as good peel and other finesse procedures. DO NOT jump on this purchase, many people do, and it is not the best. You can buy one for 10 $ and you can buy one for $ 200. We recommend to use somewhere in the middle, $ 100 – $ 150 Also Cleaver – Great go-to knife, quick dinner and more. It works in many ways. Not only does it have a big knife, but it is very quick to cut with. You can also pick up your food, go to the pan and return to the table. So, it works two features, great knife, great weight, great value. You can buy a good cleaver for $ 40 to $ 100. Another thing to look for is steel. There are stainless steel blades and it is carbon knives. Carbon knives must be kept dry all the time, very sharp, very soft and difficult to maintain unless you pay attention to your knives. When buying kitchen knives, look for a full tang.
Like said, Chef’s knife (also known as the French Knife) will hand 90% of the time. It can be used for everything. One of the best things about the chef’s knife is that it gives depth to the magazine. There is nothing worse that cutting an onion with a blade that is too small and knuckles are hitting the table. Tiny leaves will not serve you well when it comes to things like that. The Straight boning knife is perfect for exactly what it sounds like. You will find lots of things to do with a knife like that. The Peering Knife is excellent for exfoliating, but also you can use it in these hard to reach places when cutting vegetables. The Bread Knife is used to create all the different kinds of bread cut. From time to time you will find that this can be useful for other vegetables, not just bread. The Roast Knife can be used for cutting various types meat.

What A Sharp Looking Knife Set
People are always telling me I’m a little too obsessed with knives, but what do “therapists” and “doctors” know?
Personally, I don’t know what they’re talking about. Lots of people like knives. A fine set of knives is something everyone needs in their life. Take this Kai Tan Ren 9-Piece Knife Block Set, for example. Not only is it a very fetching looking collection of knives made with Daido 1K6 hardened Japanese steel in its solid cherry wood knife block, it’s also a good friend.
I meant “also very handy in the kitchen.” I don’t know why I said the other thing.
And you get nine knives in all, too. There’s the 3 1/2” Paring Knife, the 6” Utility, Sandwich, and Chef’s knives, the 8” Chef’s and Bread knife, 9” Slicing Knife, and 6 1/2” Nakiri Knife. Heh. I like the 9” Slicing Knife the best. I call mine “Eddie.” We’‘ve been through a lot together, haven’t we, Eddie? So many adventures, yes. So much booooologna. Yeah, see, I eat a lot of bologna. I just buy it by the stick. Heh.
But I mean, just look at the way the light dances along the double-beveled edge of Ed, I MEAN, the 9” Slicing Knife. Heh heh. It looks so happy, doesn’t it? And I wish I could convey just how comfortable this gently rounded, ambidextrous handle feels in my hand. The grip is so secure, you know? Like, like it’s an extension of myself. That’s how much control I have over this knife thanks to the triangular shape. Heh heh heh. I could do ANYthing with this knife. Anything at ALL.
Huh? Oh hey, everyone. When did you guys get here? Hey, any of you interested in some knives?
Warranty:
The first Global Chefs knives were designed in 1985 by Komin Yamada in Japan. Yamada was commissioned to produce a new and revolutionary set of Japanese chefs knives, using the latest manufacturing technologies and materials. The range of knives that he produced have proven to be popular with both professional chefs and amateur home cooks, as they are comfortable to hold and use and easy to maintain. Introduced from Japan to Europe in 1988, Global chefs knives were the first one piece stainless steel knife to be offered to the European market.
The design that Yamada produced was simple yet clever, and took inspiration from both Japanese chefs knives and cooks knives used throughout Asia. European knives such as Sabatier are usually made with a tang and bolster which the knife handle attaches to – Asian and Japanese knives do not have these as they are seen as a hindrance to both sharpening and cutting, and to the overall balance of the knife. For the Global chefs knife range, Yamada introduced a hollow handle which is filled with sand to get a correct balance.
To complete his design, Yamada included several further features unique to Global knives such as a smooth contour and a seamless all stainless steel construction. This design eliminates dirt and food traps and helps in the cleaning process – this gives the best result in safety and hygiene, essential in professional kitchens and in the home.
Although the materials and processes Yamada used to manufacture Global Chefs Knives was technologically advanced, the knife range has clearly taken inspiration from Japan’s long history of knife blade manufacturing. Over 1000 years ago, Japanese blacksmiths and swordsmiths developed and improved the process of making sharp yet strong knife and sword blades for the Samurai warriors. Although the Samurai tradition is now
ceremonial, those skills are still being used to manufacture high quality chefs knives. Japanese knives are famous over the world for this quality – Global chefs knives are now manufactured by Yoshikin, in the city of Niigata, Japan.
The material that Yamada chose to produce his knife range is not just stainless steel, but is one of the finest stainless steels available – Cromova 18. This is a proprietary stainless steel designed and used by Yoshikin exclusively for the manufacture of Global chefs knives. Cromova 18 has a chromium content of 18 per cent – which keeps the knife blades free of rust or stains, and means that although the steel is hard it is not too hard to sharpen. The MO and VA elements of the Cromova 18 name stand for the metallic elements molybdenum and vanadium.
These ensure that the knife retains the world famous Global chefs knife sharp edge.
