Chefs Choice Knife Sharpener

Finding the right Chefs Choice Knife Sharpener is very important because if you are like me, you probably spent an arm and a leg on your kitchen knives and it would be a real shame to let that investment go down the tube by allowing your knives to get dull and useless.

Chefs choice has been a popular brand for many years, and in this guide I’ll walk you through some of the different product options you have so that you can pick the sharpener that’s right for you and your budget. I’ll be reviewing these specific knife sharpeners today:

  • Chef’s Choice 300 Diamond Hone Knife Sharpener
  • Chef’s Choice 110 Professional Diamond Hone Sharpener
  • Chef’s Choice 120 Diamond Hone 3-Stage Professional Knife Sharpener
  • Chef’s Choice M130 Professional Sharpening Stations
  • Chef’s Choice 440 2-Stage Manual Sharpener

Chef’s Choice 300 Diamond Hone Knife Sharpener

I’ll begin with this entry-level unit that cost about $36. It is 100% diamond abrasive and will handle carbon as well as stainless steel knives of all shapes and sizes. Even though it’s pretty cheap, it comes with magnetic guides that will hold your blade at the proper angles. It has two stages, the first sharpens and the second hones your knife to a razor edge. All in all this is a well reviewed entry-level machine. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars based on aggregate reviews.

Chef’s Choice 110 Professional Diamond Hone Sharpener

Next we move to this nice $80 sharpener. It has three stage precision sharpening that will work for both chef knives and butcher knives, and even hunting knives. It comes with a unique Trizor-Plus edge that is supposed to allow for greater sharpness and durability for your blades. I rate it a solid 4 out of 5 stars based on aggregate customer reviews.

Chef’s Choice 120 Diamond Hone 3-Stage Professional Knife Sharpener

At $125 we’re starting to get into the higher-end sharpeners and I would probably label this one a pro sharpener. It is 100 percent diamond abrasive and will never detemper, it also comes with a 3 year warranty that’s nice to have. This is an easy-to-use unit that will do everything but polish your blade for you. It should handle most style knives and cutlery without a problem, even serrated knives, giving sharp edges. Based on customer reviews I give this just under five out of five stars. (95%)

Chef’s Choice M130 Professional Sharpening Stations

At $160 this is a very professional unit. Made out of super hard and major steel with a flexible stropping disk, it will sharpen, steel, and strop just about any knife you throw at it. It has angle guides so that any idiot can quickly sharpen their knife correctly – always offering a fine edge. Based on aggregate customer reviews I give this just under 5 out of 5 stars (95%).

Chef’s Choice 440 2-Stage Manual Sharpener

No review of sharpeners would be complete without a manual sharpener thrown into the mix and this $20 unit certainly fits that bill. You read that right, this is NOT an electric knife sharpener. It has two stages which allow for both sharpening and honing of your knife and diamond abrasives in both stages that will give you a strong, beveled, and razor sharp edge. It also has precision roller guides that will control the angle of either right-handed strokes or left-handed strokes. It will even handle scissors. Based on reviews, I give it a strong 4 out of 5 stars (94%)

Choosing the right Chefs Choice Knife Sharpener for your kitchen is important but realistically it comes down to how much money you’re willing to spend. Which one sharpens the best? Really, any one of these sharpeners, including the $20 manual one will work well enough to get by. But if you’re going for bells and whistles then I suggest the M130 pro sharpener. You won’t be disappointed.
