One of the many questions we receive from potential customers is “I have had engraved children’s cutlery sets in the past from other on-line websites however the name engraved onto the handles are very feint and hardly visible“.
Cutlery sets are generally made from stainless steel which is a very difficult metal to engrave as it is one of the toughest metals on the planet. Many smaller companies and sole traders use drag engraving machines such as a Roland Metaza engraving machine which is designed for small businesses who generally tend to engrave keyrings, dog tags and smaller items made from chrome and plastic tags.

Although these type of engraving machines use diamond tipped tooling, it is only possible to scratch the very surface of the stainless steel. Repeated engraving the cutlery set will produce a clearer result however this will be time consuming and not cost efficient.

We use a SureGrave Rotation S machine which can be used in rotary mode to engrave our cutlery sets. The Rotation S set in rotary mode effectively drills into the surface of the stainless steel and produces a much better result ensuring that the name engraved is visible in all lights, probably equivalent to 4-5 passes on a standard machine.

We have several engraved childrens cutlery sets available,  the handles of the knife, forks and spoons can be engraved with the name of the child or message up to 15 characters.
