Victorinox 12-Inch Granton Edge Slicing Knife with Fibrox Handle

Victorinox Kitchen Knives are a great deal in just about every aspect but one thing I find that confuses a great many people are the many different options that are available. There are just so many great Victorinox knives on the market today that some people have a hard time narrowing it down. That’s why I wrote this guide for you today where I will review three great knives under $50.

When it comes to Victorinox, you basically have three main categories or styles to choose from. These three include:

• Fibrox
• Rosewood
• Forshner Forged

Prices for each of these three lines increase respectively. Fibrox are the cheapest, Rosewood are a little bit more expensive, and the Forschner forged knives are by far the most expensive. I’m going to give you my favorite under $50 for each of them.

Fibrox Victorinox kitchen knife

Victorinox Cutlery 10-Inch Chef’s Knife, Black Fibrox Handle – at $22 you really can’t go wrong with this light weight chefs knife. It has a long blade which is great for big chopping jobs. It’s high carbon stainless steel blade will retain its very sharp edge for a long time. When it does need sharpening however it has a bolstered edge and is stamped from cold rolled steel making it especially easy to sharpen.

Rosewood Victorinox kitchen knife

RH Forschner Rosewood Chef’s Knife 8″, at $40 this is a very nice looking knife. The 10 inch chef’s knife in rosewood costs $58 which misses our under $50 cut off just barely! You may be able to find it on sale under $50, so be aware of that. The 8 inch though is a great chefs knife. It is a high carbon stainless steel blade with a Rockwell hardness of 56 HRC. It’s tempered edge can be resharpened over and over again. This is a nice knife but the beautiful Rosewood handle is what really differentiates it from other knives. I think of this more as a beauty piece than a functional tool, but don’t get me wrong – it holds its own in utility too!

Forshner Forged Victorinox kichen knife

VICTORINOX – 6″ Forged Chefs Knife is your under $50 option, clocking in right at $49. Sure you only get 6 inches with this knife but it may be enough! The 8 inch costs $90 and a 10 inch ends up just over $100, both clearly missing our $50 cut off. But this six-inch knife is quite a deal. It is made in Solingen Germany and is a full tang blade that looks spectacular.

Okay so we cheated a little bit because the $50 cut off is quite hard especially for the higher and Forschner knives but hopefully you get a good idea of the different Victorinox kitchen knives that are available as chef knives. Victorinox is a solid choice when it comes to highly usable kitchen knives and I hope you take some time to try them out yourself.
