My wife is the gourmet. She says these knives are superb. She also liked the particular variety of knives in this set. Too often, preselected sets have knives that simply aren’t very useful for the home kitchen. This one makes a good starter set. We like to give knives as wedding gifts (for couples who like to cook) and this makes an excellent choice.

Purchased this set thinking I’d get a variety of great Wusthof knives, what I got was a block with a couple of good knives, not 8…if I’d have wanted serrated knives, I wouldn’t have spent this kind of money…pretty disappointing.

Have not used all of the knives yet, but the paring knives and the chef are both great. They are sharp and have a good feel to the hand. The only drawback I see so far is that the chef’s knife could have a little more weight to it for hand control/feel when chopping food such as carrots, radishes, etc.

The blades are actually very sharp and steel is thick. The blade is much thicker and stronger than any other famous brands. I do not feel any part of them that are look cheap. They are worth the money.
